1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using greenwichems.org or any online service that links to these Terms and Conditions, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or the applicable online service.
Additional terms, policies, waivers, refund rules, program requirements, or agreements may apply to particular services, classes, registrations, events, donations, accounts, or transactions. If a specific agreement conflicts with these general Terms and Conditions, the more specific agreement will control for that service or transaction.
2. Emergency & Medical Use
The website is provided for general informational, educational, administrative, and transactional purposes. It is not an emergency communications system and must not be used to request emergency medical services or communicate urgent medical information.
Information on this website is not a substitute for individualized medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or the judgment of a qualified health care professional. Use of the website does not by itself create a patient-provider relationship.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not interfere with the website, Greenwich EMS systems, or the rights of others. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, system, database, restricted area, or information; introduce malware or harmful code; scrape or harvest information in violation of law or website restrictions; impersonate another person; submit false or misleading information; or use the website in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.
4. Accounts, Forms & User Submissions
Where the website offers an account, registration, application, form, or other submission process, you are responsible for providing accurate information and for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account to the extent permitted by law.
By submitting information through the website, you represent that you have the right to provide that information and authorize Greenwich EMS to use it as reasonably necessary to process your submission, provide the requested service, maintain appropriate records, and comply with applicable law and policy.
5. Payments, Donations, Registrations & Other Transactions
Certain website functions may permit payments, donations, purchases, class registrations, event registrations, or other transactions. Prices, fees, availability, payment schedules, refund terms, eligibility requirements, and other transaction-specific conditions may be displayed at checkout, registration, in a program policy, or in a separate agreement and are incorporated into these Terms where applicable.
Transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers. You authorize the applicable processor to charge the payment method you provide for the amount you approve. Greenwich EMS is not responsible for a payment processor's separate terms, systems, or privacy practices.
Nothing on the website guarantees admission to a class or program, employment, certification, licensure, event availability, or any other outcome unless expressly stated in writing by an authorized Greenwich EMS representative.
6. Text Messaging / SMS Terms
If you opt in to receive text messages from Greenwich EMS, you consent to receive messages at the mobile number you provide for the purpose described at the point of consent. Messages may include administrative, transactional, informational, program-related, service-related, or other communications permitted by your consent and applicable law.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out of future text messages from the applicable messaging program. Reply HELP for assistance or contact Greenwich EMS using the information below. After an opt-out request, you may receive a final confirmation message. Opting out of SMS does not prevent Greenwich EMS from communicating with you through other lawful and appropriate methods.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making a purchase or donation unless expressly stated otherwise where permitted by law. Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy practices relating to mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and consent are described in the Website Privacy Policy.
7. Privacy & Protected Health Information
Use of the website is also subject to the Website Privacy Policy. Protected health information created or maintained in connection with patient care may be governed by the Greenwich EMS Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable health privacy law.
Do not submit sensitive medical or health information through a general website form, email address, or text message unless the form or communication method specifically requests that information and is intended for that purpose.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the website and its original text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, design elements, documents, and other content are owned by or licensed to Greenwich EMS and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view, download, or print website materials for lawful personal, educational, or informational use unless otherwise restricted. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, exploit, or falsely represent ownership of website content without appropriate permission.
9. Third-Party Links & Services
The website may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services. Those services are provided by independent third parties and may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. A link or integration does not necessarily constitute an endorsement. Greenwich EMS is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of third-party services.
10. Website Availability & Accuracy
Greenwich EMS may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any portion of the website or an online service at any time. We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and current information, but website content may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or temporary technical problems. We may correct or update information without notice.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Greenwich EMS does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or free from harmful components, or that all information will always be complete, current, or accurate.
Nothing in these Terms limits obligations that cannot lawfully be disclaimed, including applicable duties relating to emergency medical care or protected health information.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greenwich EMS and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising solely from use of or inability to use the website or a third-party service linked from the website.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law or another law must apply. Any dispute concerning these Terms will be handled in a court of competent jurisdiction as permitted by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
14. Changes to These Terms
Greenwich EMS may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The effective date above will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the website after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
