Training Program Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains refund, withdrawal, cancellation, no-show, and re-enrollment rules for Greenwich EMS Training Center programs.

Effective May 1, 2025
Please review before registering. Refund rules differ between the EMT certification program and other Greenwich EMS Training Center courses. Requests for refunds or withdrawals must be submitted in writing to training@greenwichems.org.

EMT Certification Classes

The following refund schedule applies to Greenwich EMS EMT certification classes.

Before Orientation

Full Refund

A student who withdraws before EMT Class Orientation is eligible for a full refund of tuition and the deposit.

After Orientation Through Session 2

Refund Less Deposit

After Orientation and through completion of the second EMT class session, all tuition paid is refundable except the $450 non-refundable deposit.

Beginning With Session 3

No Refund

Beginning with the third EMT class session, no tuition reimbursement will be issued, regardless of the reason for withdrawal.

EMT re-enrollment: A student who withdraws after the third EMT class session and later seeks to enroll in a future EMT class is not guaranteed placement. Re-enrollment is subject to approval by the Educational Coordinator. A licensure and re-registration fee will be required and may be up to 50% of the current tuition, depending on market cost at the time of re-enrollment.

All Other Training Classes

These rules apply to CPR, First Aid, continuing education, refresher programs, and other non-EMT Training Center classes unless a specific program or registration agreement states otherwise.

Public / Open-Enrollment Classes

Cancel Before Class Starts

A participant may receive a full refund when cancellation is submitted before the scheduled class start time. Once the class begins, the registration is non-refundable.

Private / Group / Specially Scheduled Classes

24-Hour Cancellation Requirement

A full refund is available when cancellation is received at least 24 hours before the scheduled class start time. Cancellations received less than 24 hours before the class are non-refundable.

No-Show

No Refund

A participant who does not attend a scheduled class and has not cancelled within the applicable refund period is considered a no-show and will not receive a refund.

Transfers

Subject to Availability

When appropriate, Greenwich EMS may allow a registration to be transferred to another available class instead of issuing a refund. Transfers are not guaranteed and may be subject to program-specific requirements.

If Greenwich EMS Cancels a Class

If Greenwich EMS cancels a class, affected participants are entitled to a full refund of amounts paid for that class. When another class date is available, participants may be offered the option to transfer their registration instead.

How Refunds Are Issued

  • Refunds are returned to the original form of payment whenever possible.
  • Approved refunds generally require 7–10 business days to process.
  • Processing times imposed by banks or card issuers may vary.

How to Request a Refund or Withdrawal

Requests must be submitted in writing and should include the participant's name, the class or program, and the reason for the request.
