This policy explains how Greenwich Emergency Medical Service handles online charitable donations, recurring gifts, receipts, donation errors, and refund requests.
Charitable contributions are generally considered final once successfully processed. We understand, however, that duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, or other payment errors can occur.
Once a voluntary charitable donation has been processed, it is generally non-refundable. This helps Greenwich EMS responsibly account for and use charitable funds in support of its mission.
If you believe a donation was duplicated, entered in the wrong amount, made without authorization, or otherwise processed in error, contact Greenwich EMS promptly. Refund requests will be reviewed individually, and approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method.
Recurring gifts continue according to the frequency selected by the donor until canceled or otherwise ended.
Donors may cancel a recurring donation at any time. Cancellation applies to future scheduled donations and does not automatically reverse donations that have already been processed.
When available, donors may use the Donor Dashboard to manage recurring-gift information. Donors may also contact Greenwich EMS for assistance with changing or canceling future recurring donations.
To avoid an upcoming recurring charge, submit a cancellation request as early as possible before the next scheduled processing date. A payment already submitted to the payment processor may not be preventable.
Greenwich EMS provides donation confirmations or receipts using the contact information supplied by the donor. Donors are responsible for providing accurate name, email, and mailing information and should retain receipts for their records.
If a contribution is made in connection with an event, item, benefit, or other transaction in which goods or services are provided to the donor, any charitable portion of the payment may differ from the total amount paid. Where required, Greenwich EMS will provide appropriate acknowledgment information.
Donors may sometimes designate a gift for a campaign, program, purpose, or in honor or memory of another person.
Greenwich EMS will make reasonable efforts to use designated donations for the stated charitable purpose. If a designated purpose becomes impracticable, unnecessary, or impossible to fulfill, Greenwich EMS may use the funds for a closely related charitable purpose consistent with applicable law and any binding donor restriction.
When a donor provides information for an acknowledgment to an honoree or family, Greenwich EMS may use that information for the requested notification. Donation amounts are not disclosed unless appropriate or specifically authorized.
Online donations may be processed through third-party payment providers and fundraising technology partners. Their processing systems and terms may also apply to the transaction.
For assistance with a donation, duplicate transaction, recurring gift, receipt, or donation record, contact Greenwich EMS.
